Master of Science in Library and Information Science

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • GPA. Of 3.0 and above
  • Résumé or C.V.
  • Official transcripts from each institution attended
  • Two letters of recommendation from professors, instructors, or persons with whom you have worked in a professional capacity.
  • A statement of professional purpose, which should include a meaningful discussion of what you hope to accomplish with an M.S. in Library and Information Science from St. John’s.
  • An interview with the program director may be required.
  • Students having a GPA below 3.0 may receive a conditional acceptance, depending on work experience.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for applicants whose native language is not English.

Ph.D. in Literacy

  • Master’s degree in any field
  • GPA. Of 3.2 and above
  • Résumé or C.V.
  • Miller Analogies Test (MAT), satisfactory score (generally the 50th percentile) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Analytical Written Section, satisfactory score (of at least 4)
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for applicants whose native language is not English
  • Statement of goals for doctoral study
  • All official transcripts

Master of Science in Taxation

  • Baccalaureate or post-baccalaureate degree
  • GPA of 3.25/4.0
  • Official Graduate Management Admission test (GMAT) scores, taken within the last five years – minimum of 550 or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores – minimum of 310. (Students who have passed the uniform CPA examination or an equivalent examination may be waived from the GMAT requirement.)
  • Résumé
  • Two letters of recommendation obtained from professional or academic references
  • Statement of professional goals
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for applicants whose native language is not English
  • Students with international credits must submit a course-by-course credit evaluation with GPA calculation by AEQUO.

Master of Science in Accounting

  • Undergraduate business major or have completed 36 credits in business in a graduate business program or a school of law.
  • GPA of 3.25/4.0
  • Official Graduate Management Admission test (GMAT) scores, taken within the last five years – minimum of 550 or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores – minimum of 310. (Students who have passed the uniform CPA examination or an equivalent examination may be waived from the GMAT requirement.)

  • Work experience of at least three years.
  • Official TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for applicants whose native language is not English

  • GPA of 3.25/4.0
  • Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores (taken within the last 5 years) – minimum of 550 or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores – minimum of 310. GMAT waivers may be offered on a case by case basis to applicants who have substantial management experience.
