Young Back Choi’s research interest is on entrepreneurship, economic mobility, process of social change, and economic development. He also occasionally writes on Adam Smith. He has run a lecture series funded by the Charles Koch Foundation since fall 2010, bringing in about five outside speakers a year. He has been a faculty fellow in the Program on Market Institutions and Processes at NYU Economics Department since 1994. He has been a visitor at Washington University, George Mason University, Max-Planck Institute for Comparative Economic Systems (Germany), American Institute for Economic Research, Social Philosophy and Policy Center, Gokkugakuin University (Japan), and Soongsil University (Korea). He has been teaching at the college level since 1984.
