St. John’s University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, a voluntary, non-governmental, membership association that is dedicated to quality assurance and improvement through accreditation via peer evaluation. Middle States accreditation instills public confidence in institutional mission, goals, performance, and resources through its rigorous accreditation standards and their enforcement.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education aspires to be the preeminent resource for institutions of higher education striving to achieve excellence in fulfilling their missions. It also intends, through voluntary assessment and adherence to high standards for student learning outcomes and operational behavior, to assure that its accredited institutions are fulfilling their stated purpose and addressing the public's expectations.

Online Program and Accreditations

St. John’s Online’s programs have also been separately accredited by the following additional institutions:

  • The Master of Science in Library and Information Science program is accredited by the American Library Association. St. John’s is one of only seven institutions on the East Coast that offers an ALA-accredited 100% online program.
  • The Peter J. Tobin College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
  • The Online Master of Science in Cyber and Security Information Systems program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.
  • St. John's University is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
